DrivAerML

Fluid Dynamics 3D

A road-car external-aero problem on open DrivAerML geometries: morph length, width, ride height, and related shape knobs, then predict drag and lift plus surface pressure coefficient (Cp) and wall shear on the native mesh. Ground truth is upstream CFD, not a re-run here. Full-scale car aero. Miss the wake or underbody loading and the field metrics show it.

Comparability

Not comparable with volume-field or 2D airfoil problems. This is full-vehicle 3D surface prediction (Cp, wall shear, integrated forces). Native and decimated packs are different meshes — scores are fair within a pack, not across packs.

Open cases

This site hosts 40 carefully chosen open cases from DrivAerML, not the full release (~400 designs on Hugging Face). It is a sparse slice so surrogate training and iteration stay tractable. Strong scores on this split do not automatically mean strong performance on the whole corpus. Both live packs use that same open case set.

Ground truth

CFD surface data from the public DrivAerML release on CAE ML Datasets. Upstream simulations used OpenFOAM. We did not run solvers on this site. Please cite the DrivAerML paper when you use this data (CC-BY-SA).

Datasets

Same 40 open cases and morph knobs; packs differ by surface mesh resolution. Open subset is native ~8M nodes; Decimated is ~200k for architectures that need a smaller graph.
